Updates and News

At our recent board meeting, All On Board celebrated wins, reviewed finances, and laid the groundwork for new adventures and big events. Here's a look at what’s happening!

1. Highlights from Our Volleyball Fundraiser

  • Financial success: With over $2,300–$2,500 in registrations and donations and about $830 in expenses, we netted nearly $1,500, surpassing our initial goal of $800–$1,200.
  • Community spirit: CJ noted that some highly competitive teams joined the fun—skill levels varied, but the energy was high!
  • Above expectations: Calvin highlighted this result as a significant overachievement compared to initial projections.

2. Financial Update & Grant News

  • Current balance: We’re sitting on $7,600 as of June.
  • Grant influx: A $3,750 deposit in May likely included grant proceeds.
  • Upcoming support:
    • $2,000 confirmed soon.
    • $3,500 scheduled for December.
  • Capacity growth: These funds ensure we’re on track to support our next student trip with ease.

3. Student Ski Trip Plans

  • Scaling up: We aim to bring a larger group on one single bus, saving on logistics.
  • Budgeting: Trip cost is roughly $7,000, and adding 15 more kids increases cost by only around $1,500.
  • Volunteer support: We discussed the importance of scaling responsibly—with proper volunteer staffing to maintain safety and structure.

4. Charity Golf Tournament Prep

  • Proposed date: Sunday, November 7—just ahead of holiday season.
  • Venue possibilities:
    • Continental Golf Club: Familiar, affordable, great margins.
    • Dobson Ranch: Offers practice facilities plus a fun mini-golf fundraiser add‑on.
    • Future planning: We’re open to rotating venues to keep the event fresh.
  • Next steps: Christian will secure venue/date and circle back with details.

5. Boosting Engagement & Online Presence

  • Digital ad testing: Kyle proposed running low-cost ads ($5/day) on Meta or YouTube to draw in donors and volunteers.
  • Video-first strategy: We’ll leverage volunteer footage and event clips to create compelling video content.
  • Consistent content: Blog posts and meeting recaps will be published promptly to share key updates.
  • Website refresh: Kyle will update the board section to include Stephen and Calvin, and fix minor typos.

Why This Matters

By connecting the dots between fundraising success, community events, and digital storytelling, All On Board is building momentum. The Volleyball fundraiser not only brought in revenue—but also inspired confidence that we can scale future events.

Our budget is healthy; upcoming grants will support greater impact—especially our ski trip expansion. And with digital ads, refreshed video content, and consistent blog updates, we're amplifying visibility and engagement across the board.
